My journey

United States Air Force

Vehicle Maintenance, Training Innovation, and Emerging Technology Integration

Over the past 11 years, I have served in the United States Air Force as a vehicle maintainer and technical leader, supporting mission readiness, fleet reliability, and the day to day operations of mobility units across multiple assignments. My work has focused on maintaining and inspecting critical Air Force ground assets, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with Air Force standards while mentoring junior airmen and contributing to the continuous improvement of maintenance practices.

Within the past year, I have taken on a new role in modernizing training methods at Andrews Air Force Base for the 459th Logistics Readiness Squadron. I assisted in the implementation of Virtual Garage and Virtual Hangar, two cutting edge training systems adopted by the Air Force. These programs use virtual reality environments to allow maintenance airmen to inspect aircraft and vehicles in a fully interactive 3D space. This technology improves familiarization, reduces training time, and provides safer opportunities for airmen to build confidence before working on real equipment.

The Air Force is rapidly expanding its use of virtual and augmented reality, and I am proud to be involved at the forefront of this transition. My experience integrating these tools has strengthened my skills in user training, workflow development, and technology adoption, and reflects my commitment to advancing the capabilities of the Air Force and the airmen I serve alongside.
